I am a licensed psychologist in Massachusetts providing individual, couples, and group therapy to young adults and adults. I have worked in a variety of clinical settings including a group psychotherapy practice, several university counseling centers, community mental health centers and public schools. I have been exposed to a wide variety of presenting issues and diagnoses, and have developed several specialized skills and interest in anxiety, life transition, acculturation and cross-cultural adjustment, family origin issues and relationship issues. I approach therapy from a strength-based, humanistic perspective which integrate Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), interpersonal process, Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Emotional Focused Therapy (EFT) and mindfulness.
I received my doctoral degree in Counseling Psychology from the Loyola University Chicago, and earned my Master’s degree in Counseling from the Santa Clara University. I have completed an APA-accredited internship at Southern Illinois University Carbondale Counseling and Psychological Services and a post-doctoral fellowship at the Tufts University Counseling and Mental Health Services.
I was born and grew up in China. Living in two different cultures has its own challenges and rewards. I learned to appreciate the richness of human experiences and cultures, also practice therapy through a multicultural lens. I am bilingual, provide psychotherapy both in English and Mandarin.
